BioMarin NLB

San Francisco Bay Area, CA

The new BioMarin campus is a three-story, 85,554sf research facility in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. The award-winning research facility provides laboratory and office space for many employees, encouraging collaboration and innovation. The building, designed with sustainability and efficiency in mind, makes use of natural lighting, modulated labs, and an open layout. The site, formerly occupied by PG&E, contained challenged soils and a deep pile foundation system that integrated into the new structure. The building incorporates low vibration design to achieve frequency limits down to 2,000mips.
